Welcome to the Expression of Self Newsletter!!
Hi again, from Sheryl and Tom!
Our
Chiming Jewelry is the focal point of this month's newsletter.
This jewelry is functional as well as beautiful. The ancient
Celts first used chiming spheres as meditative devices. Gently
shaking the spheres to create a mystical bell-like sound was
a way to communicate with nature. Then in the early 20th century,
a German silversmith found an original Druid bell in an antique
shop and recreated the spheres in small quantities.
This tradition is continued with individually handcrafted
chiming spheres and jewelry. Use them to reduce stress, introduce
tranquility and intrigue to your wardrobe, or to carry music
wherever you go. The egg shaped chime is also said to enhance
fertility. These pieces are so much fun and so pretty, that I
gave many as Christmas presents this past year.
ON A PERSONAL NOTE:
I have been looking for new products to add to the web site.
I met with Judy who makes some of the most beautiful earrings
I have ever seen. She is very creative and talented!! The newest
line of jewelry to be added to the web site in the very near
future will be beaded and stone earrings and "furnace glass"
earrings. Furnace glass is very difficult to use as earrings
because each piece is different. I will be writing more about
furnace glass in a future newsletter. I am in the process of
taking pictures to put on-line, so please check the site often
and watch for them.
Most of you know
by now that Tom and I love to travel. Most of our travels this
past year have been "working vacations." We attempt
to always add some fun into every trip, however, our last trip
was all work. I dislike calling what we do "work" because
it is FUN! We own an audio/visual business called Mach 1 Audio.
Two of our clients, Younglove Broadcast Services and Microwave
Communications, asked us to go to Macedon, New York (which is
near Rochester). We shot a satellite business meeting for Exxon/Mobil
which was down linked to Ohio, Texas, South Carolina, New York,
Singapore and Brussels. This is the second time we have done
this for them and it was a lot of fun. I am not quite sure how
much fun the 9 hour car ride was with 4 of us and all our equipment
and luggage crammed into a mini van - but it was interesting.
We drove all day Tuesday, worked for 14 hours on Wednesday and
drove 9 hours home Thursday after working 10 hours. It was a
very long few days, but it was a lot of fun and I look forward
to the next trip back there.
We also did a live shoot for HBO on the Bill Maher show from
East Lansing, Michigan. Michael Moore was the guest and it was
very exciting to see our work broadcast live over HBO!
Our next trip is
to Cozumel, Mexico. This is a family vacation, with a little
bit of work sprinkled in - if you can call 'shopping' work. I
am hoping to find some interesting pieces to put on the web site
as "first come first served" items. Cozumel is famous
for its sterling silver jewelry and it is also the home of the
world's second largest barrier reef. Tom will be shooting video
of his scuba diving to use for future projects. We am very excited
about this trip!
Enough from me for now - thank you for reading! If you are
new to the newsletter, please go to the Newsletters page on the
web site and check out the archived editions.
Thank you for being a member of our extended family. From
near to far - all the way around the world -- we do truly appreciate
you!!
