Welcome to the Expression of Self Newsletter!! Hi again, from Sheryl and Tom! Thank you for the great responses we have had to the updated web site. I have put a lot of heart and soul into making this the best place to express yourself. Our Featured Item of the Month is The Weeping Sunflower by Susan Simmons. This unique and beautiful sunflower has been faithfully reproduced in a very limited edition of just 200 prints, on the best archival quality 100% cotton rag paper. One of these pictures has hung on my mother's wall for several years now and I have always loved it. I am very pleased to be able to share them with you! This is a new aspect of the site -- Design your own earrings!!
ON A PERSONAL NOTE: Tom and I recently went to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. We flew through Phoenix, Arizona on the way to Cabo. I have never been to Phoenix and was very impressed with its beauty. Cabo is also in the desert. The Pacific Ocean is on one side but the Sea of Cortez is the body of water most accessible. There are all sorts of water activities available and perfect weather most of the year in which to do them. I have never thought that I would enjoy scuba diving, however, I decided to give it a try. I took a Discover Scuba course at a local hotel one day. The instructor, Frank, was wonderful!! I was the only student for the morning session, so I was able to take my time and enjoy learning something new. We began the class at the hotel swimming pool. I was a little nervous but had a lot of fun. While I was having my lesson, Tom was diving in the Sea of Cortez. After the group came back from their first dive and had their surface interval, we all went out together. Tom swam with Frank and I and captured my whole first dive on video. It was so exciting and fun!!! The beauty of the underwater world astounded me. I got to pet a purple puffer fish and gently touch a couple of different starfish. I saw all kinds of fish and coral and moray eels. I only went to about 25 feet deep, but that was enough for my first try. I am now scheduled to take a dive class and get certified at our favorite local dive shop, Great Lakes Dive Center. I am very eager to begin my training and receive my certification. I had no idea about the kind of freedom you can feel underwater. It is like the dreams I used to have as a child where I was swimming through the air - only better!! The beauty of the air while flying and the beauty of the desert and the beauty of the sea were all presented to me while on this trip and I am very blessed to have been able to enjoy and share.
