Welcome to the Expression of Self Newsletter!! Hi again, from Sheryl and Tom! Thank you for the great responses we have had to the updated web site. I have put a lot of heart and soul into making this the best place to express yourself. The new shopping cart system is making life a lot easier for everyone and I would like to thank everyone for your support and well-wishes. I have gone through a transformation in my life in three years. I have been experiencing things that I thought I would never want to do and eating things I have never liked before. I have decided that the little box I had unknowingly created for myself was getting kind of small -- so I broke out of it and have been having so much fun!! It is a wonderful and exciting time in my life to be free of past ways of thinking and experiencing so many new things --- and enjoying them!! Of course there are things that will never go over well with me (liver, for instance), I am attempting to change preconceived notions and develop a new "taste" for things. Scuba diving is just one of many. As silly as it may sound, I am very proud of myself for my accomplishments. There really is nothing silly about it though because we should feel proud of ourselves. I have accomplished things that have made me such a better person - if only in my own eyes. I have never been happier or felt more 'well-rounded.' I wonder what is next on my list of things to do....... What is on your list??? Today is the third anniversary of 9-11. That day changed so many people's lives in many different ways, mine included. I really took stock of my life and made some very big changes. It is now a day of remembrance and reflection every year. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone. I am now a certified scuba diver
and Tom has his Dive Master certification. I took the class at
Great Lakes Dive Center last month. We did classroom work in
the mornings and went to a local college pool for the water part
of the course. It was a lot of fun but a lot of hard work. We
spent many hours in the pool practicing our newly learned skills.
We went to a quarry for the open water part of the certification
process. I was very blessed to have Tom diving with us. He received
his Dive Master certification during these weekends by assisting
the instructor, Juergen, with our class. It was comforting to
have him there to watch over me and assist when needed. So now
I am a certified scuba diver and am totally thrilled. It is a
