from the sea, capiz shells were once used in the Philippines
for windowpanes. The shells are best known for the beautiful
effects they create when illuminated. Through the creativity
and artistry of local craftsmen, capiz shells are used to brighten
homes and color the holidays, often taking on seasonal shapes,
most always set off with candlelight, sunlight or electricity.
Although
they may look fragile, capiz shells are durable and long-lasting.
Our capiz shell products are manufactured by small extended family
companies, often with two or three generations active in the
business. Child labor is not employed by these companies. Nature
gives these shells the slight variations that make up their unique
personalities. Add a tea light and feel the warmth!
